A mediation for an upcoming article on field applications of rigging plates.
What is a rigging plate?
It is like radiating orb of vectors. A place for multiple attachments, and detachments. Quick and easy and technical. It is a Cleaner of Systems. An organizer of all things metal and supple, aluminum and polyester and steel. Tensioning jingles. Where potential and kinetic energies mingle. It can be heavy or light, but most often than not it is floating, whether it is between two trees or running down a tensioned line like a bird or a plane upon the wind. On joyful pulleys. Singing the song of balance. It is a carrier of passengers, a safe portage of wood and brush to far off places where maybe the weather isn’t nicer but at least it’s safer to unload. “Closer to the casino,” as some may say. It will turn heads, and it has been known to alakazzam the base of a tree into a multidimensional life support circuit board. Lo and behold, levers and gauges and anti-panic features light up the room. It is like a thermostat, making things more comfortable. Don’t touch it. It’s set just right. It is small or big, round, square, cubed or triangled; and always best when triangulated. Find it on the bridge of the saddle, on a pulley, or with a swivel; all of it, compatible. There is not a place in time or space for an Arborist to be without it. Three holes or seven, it hardly matters, the targets will be avoided! A ring or a paw or a UFO are merely characterizations of its best applications: simple, wild, and unimaginable.
